Chief Executive Officer - Ben Connell
Ben is passionate about environmental sustainability, resource recovery, leading and developing business teams and his family.
With a background of over 20 years in procurement, logistics, solution sales and executive management within the print management industry, Ben decided to take up new challenges within the waste industry in 2007. Since that time he has held a number of leadership roles with SITA Australia (now Suez Environnement) including:
- Acquisitions Manager
- NSW & National Business Development Manager
- NSW Business Development and Local Government Relationship Manager; and
- More recently, with Kimbriki Environmental Enterprises (KEE) as the Project Director for the Kimbriki Resource Recovery Project (KRRP).
Ben has worked closely with industry associations and regulators to improve waste policy and regulatory conditions and to drive investment in resource recovery initiatives. During his time as Chairman of the WMAA NSW Resource and Energy Recovery working group (2012-2014), Ben was able to lead consultation which resulted in the release by the NSW EPA of the NSW Energy from Waste (EfW) Policy in March 2014 and which enabled the development of thermal resource recovery solutions within NSW.
Ben’s pedigree in project management will prove valuable for the delivery of critical capital projects for KEE.
Experience in communications, community engagement and public relations provides a solid foundation upon which Ben and the KEE team can continue to work with local residents and key stakeholders.
In the role of CEO and Project Director, Ben’s vision is to make KEE the premier resource recovery facility within NSW.

Throughout his career, Mark has developed extensive knowledge and experience in biological and chemical analytical science as well as mechanical engineering and the design of waste processing equipment. He has also conducted and assessed waste audits and prepared WHS and Environmental management systems for waste management activities.
Mark started his career in education at Sydney University's Science Education Teaching Laboratories as well as NorSearch, the Southern Cross University Environmental Science Business Arm as a field researcher and analytical biologist.
